Maleficus Pox

Very few lesions are currently present, but the positioning is consistent with initial chicken pox. The fever set in 14 days after coming back from Pilani with my Pox-ridden friend. The incubation period is supposed to range from 7-21 days. Once again consistent with observation.

A few of the lesions are beginning to itch, but I haven't had the need to scratch them yet. I discovered the infection largely out of my own paranoia- a single itchy pimple on my face and I tore the clothing off my torso. Many more small, developing lesions.

There's only one drug that is approved to counteract chicken pox. Acyclovir, which is only effective if the treatment is started within a day or two of infection. I discovered my condition early so I hoped to avoid most of the disease, but now my 'doctor' has prescribed for me Augmentin, an antibacterial, for chicken pox valleria, a viral disease. Augmentin will stave off complications and secondary infections- yes- but it does nothing to mitigate the pox itself.

My parents still haven't shown me to a doctor and time is running out- I need to be prescribed acyclovir and fast. I don't want to pass on the disease to my sister- although the contraction rate is almost 90%...

The doctor here seem to think that there's no need to counteract the pox, and I still haven't gotten a second opinion. Its ridiculous how uninformed they are about new drugs and medicines being developed and sticking to multiple-decade-old strategies.

At this rate I'll have to take the full brunt of my second chicken pox infection. Bah.

From now on, people with any highly contagious disease are not allowed in my car.
